The Mitsubishi car MUT 3 scan tool was the main scan tool for dealerships and had been since 1996. It was a laptop-based system using a MUT 3 interface and three different cables to connect the laptop to the vehicle. One cable is just for diagnostics while the other two cables allow an extra connection to the vehicle for reflashing or special tests.

We have a kit that includes a genuine interface and cable set with a Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 tablet. Up to 2015 model diagnostic software and reflashing included for $3995.00. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi has made a change to their interface kit, and currently it is approx. $7995.00 with the latest software.

Fuso uses a scan tool very similar to the format of the Mitsubishi scan tool. It has a split in coverage with 2011 and older trucks or 2012 and newer trucks. The most popular is the 2011 and older Fuso scan tool. It uses a similar interface with two different cables and a refurbished Panasonic CF-19 Toughbook tablet. It has full diagnostic access and regen activation capability.

It’s great for transmission shops to get detailed info as well as regular truck repair including the ability to run the regen feature on the particulate filter. It is $3595.00 plus shipping. The 2012 and newer scan tool uses a different and more expensive interface and cable and comes with a Refurbished Panasonic CF-19 Toughbook tablet. It is $3895.00 plus shipping.
